class description

    A system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915–2009). This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process produces intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind. Open for all levels.

    A system of yoga that has been synthesized from traditional Hatha Yoga techniques. It became popular in the early 1970s. All Original Hot Yoga Beginning Series classes run for 90 minutes and consist of the same series of 26 postures, including two breathing exercises. Original Hot Yoga is ideally practised in a room heated to 35–42 °C (95–108 °F) with a humidity of 40%. All official Original Hot Yoga classes are taught by certified teachers, who have completed nine weeks of training endorsed by. These teachers are taught a standardized dialogue to run the class but are encouraged to develop their teaching skills the longer they teach. This results in varying deliveries and distinct teaching styles.

    It is a slow-paced exercise which consists of intervals to build endurance, strength your core and tone your muscles. There are no explosive movements, only slow and controlled movements. These movements range from a collaboration of Pilates, Yoga and Barre.

    A low impact workout, combining yoga, pilates, and ballet-inspired movements in a hot room. By performing small, super-controlled movements, this workout activates specific sets of smaller muscles and develops long and lean muscles. This class uses the barre as a prop for balance while doing exercises. Hot Yoga Barre focuses on isometric strength training and is perfect for anyone looking to tone legs, core, arms, and booty.

    The word Hatha can be translated two ways as "willful" or "forceful" or the yoga of activity, and as "sun" (ha) and "moon" (tha), the yoga of balance. Hatha includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises) which help bring peace to the mind and body, preparing the body for deeper spiritual practice such as meditation.

    IHP is a high-intensity interval training (Tabata) using pilates principles performed on a yoga mat in a heated room. It is a challenging, full-body, low impact, high-intensity workout in a fun and motivating class. Strengthen muscles, core, and burn fat fast all without the pounding of a high impact workout. Open for all levels.

    Soul Dance

    A ballet fitness, not a barre fitness, it's a workout from the actual exercises that ballet dancers do to warm up, strengthen and stretch their muscle. The benefits are to improved posture, muscle definition, increased flexibility and strength of the muscle. This workout is designed by dancers expressly for all fitness levels.

    Mat Pilates is a way to stretch and strengthen your body, primarily the muscles of the core, which span from your hips to your shoulders. It's a series of exercise that borrows from disciplines such as dance, yoga and classic callisthenics and performed equipment-free, with the moves adapted to work with just your body and a floor mat for cushioning and support. Joseph Pilates developed this exercise methodology in the early 1900s to help fellow internees in a German national camp in England and, later, World War I veterans injured in the war. Later, Pilates brought his exercise system to the United States and opened a gym with his wife.

    A slow-paced style of yoga with postures or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time. Yin Yoga applies moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body-tendons, fascia, and ligaments, with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. A more meditative approach to yoga, Yin aims at cultivating awareness of inner silence and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality. Open for all levels.

    The word "Vinyasa" can be translated as arranging something in a special way like yoga poses for example. In Vinyasa Yoga classes, students coordinate movement with breath to flow from one pose to the next. Learn different postures in Vinyasa and move with the flow of your breathing. Explore your body and mind, reach out to things you never think of. Free, fly, find bliss. Open for all levels.

    Soul Dance is an opportunity for you to connect and be present with yourself in a non-judgemental and healthy space, through a dynamic form of meditation that's dancing. Dance as meditation is as ancient as our humanity, and Soul Dance is about getting out of your head and into your body. It’s not about the way the movement looks. It’s about how it feels, and therefore, you are encouraged to move however you wish.

    Qi Gong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique that involves meditation, controlled breathing and movement exercises. It focuses on strengthening our life-force energy (Qi), which is responsible for our health from a much deeper, foundational level.
